Oil residue in a turbo is not uncomon and usualy of no concern... check your owners manual or call the dealer about

This can mean several things, including that the mechanic is having trouble making the monthly payments on his own car (several Jiffy Lube stations have been busted for not actually changing parts on customers' cars and other cases of unethical behavior, so I would recommend a second opinion from a trusted mechanic).





There are a couple things that can cause oil in a turbo. Since turbos need oil for lubrication, you may have the oil seals in the turbo leaking. It's also possible that if your engine has worn piston rings that oil can get blown out of the crankcase through the PCV valve and into the turbo. If the latter is the problem, a compression check will probably show your engine low on compression.





And if there is enough oil in your turbo that you should be worried, you'll also see an oily residue in the exhaust pipe from the oil being burned and traces of blue smoke in the exhaust. If there isn't a sign like that, it's probably not enough to require immediate repairs.
To make a better understanding of the situation that jiffy lube guy might be talking about is that air intake tube thats going to the compressor side (inlet) part of the turbo which is really not anything uncommon amongst turbo charged cars cause the PCV valve dumps somewhere along that tube so your gonna see that. Now if theres oil past the tubine side (exhuast) side of thurbo then you got a seal problem. I hope this helps.
Ummmm why in the H is a jiffy lube guy looking in your turbo . I would barely trust them to get the oil drain plug back in without warping the threads! I just wonder what hes doing messing with your turbo anyway. Anyway get it to a good turbo specialist and don't take mr lube guy word for anything .
Not being up on gas units, still there is oil fed into the turbo bearings as you drive. I am guessing that in this case oil is getting past the oil seals that should be keeping it out of the intake system.


Most likely it is repairable. My diesel has oil there as well and it doesn't really worry me any.
I know I'm not really addressing your problem but Jiffy Lube's are a bunch of thieves. I wouldnt go to a jiffy lube if somebody paid me to do it.
