If a car is extremely low on oil could that cause it to smoke?

It's the other way around. When your engine ';consumes'; too much oil it will smoke. So, in a way, the exhaust smoke is causing your engine to be low on oil. It could be leaking, or it could be burning it. Usually engines don't leak oil in places that would cause them to smoke. Unfortunately, an oil leak er is easier fix than an oil burner.

Check out a link that I supplied from a couple of the funniest guys in car repair: Tom and Ray. Someone else had the same problem as you did their answer is enclosed. If a car is extremely low on oil could that cause it to smoke?
The oil might be leakin on the hot exhaust.Don't drive the car if it's smoking. You're asking for a fire.have it towed to a reputable garage to have it checkd out.It may be expensive, but better safe than sorry. If a car is extremely low on oil could that cause it to smoke?
Yes, it's either burning it or leaking it.
