What causes my car to start burning oil?

car 2 quarts ;low but not leakingWhat causes my car to start burning oil?
The engine has worn down some part to the point that there is a gap that allows oil to leak into the cylinders. The guy above nailed the areas. In my experience its usually the piston rings. What causes my car to start burning oil?
maybe its the pcv valve, or you have a oil ring stuck. try flushing out the crankcase, get a can of motor flush, 5 or 6 qts. of oil and a filter, put the flush in the engine, let it idle for 5 minutes, drain the oil out, change the oil and filter. see if that helps.
Valve guide seals have broken down or split. Valve guides or piston rings and cylinder bore worn out of spec.
Worn valve stem seals and or worn piston rings.
