Car using oil, but no leaks, no smoke?

My 99 Accord with 79,000 miles on it is using a quart of oil every 1800 miles or so. Its a manual transmission equipped 2.3 4cyl. It has the f23 VTEC. The car has no leaks- and it doesn't smoke at all- not at idle, not when high up in the revs, not when it starts up...none. Where the hell is my oil going?Car using oil, but no leaks, no smoke?
That's higher than average consumption but not totally unusual. Regular organic oils have a tendancy to breakdown more easily especially in rev happy hondas. Try switching to full synthetic...Red Line, Mobile 1, Royal Purple. I use about a quart between changes (10000 miles). I have 105k on the odometer on the 2.0L version in my RSX type-s. Not sure if the price of synthetic is something you can live with but it's an option. Most mechanics who know hondas will say what you're experiencing is higher than average but considered normal since no leaking or unusual smoke is apparent.Car using oil, but no leaks, no smoke?
Common on cars like Hondas. The trouble with such cars is they use small engines which have to rev high to make a reasonable amount of power...high-revving engines tend to have shorter long-term reliability do the friction associated with high-rpm operation. In the case of your car, it might have had a previous owner (assuming you didn't buy it new) that ran it hard.

With that type of oil consumption, I'd recommend and engine replacement or overhaul.
have you checked your coolant level / condition? could be a headgasket starting to leak.... a small oil leak such as yours would be hard to see smoke from tailpipe... best of luck
its normal to do that
you have a friendly car to our environment and echo system ask persons on where you bought your car
