YeahMy friend put motor oil in my car's brake tank. Is this Bad for the car?
You need to completely flush out all of the brake fluid from your system b4 you drive, the car oil( because of the detergents in it) is very corrosive to all of your brake parts especially the rubber parts in the brake components. You need to run at leats a gallon of brake fluid through the entire system.Open all the bleeder screws and pupmp the pedal untilthe fluid is completely gone 5-6 times and then bleed the brakes as normally wouldMy friend put motor oil in my car's brake tank. Do not drive your vehicle. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200. Run, do not walk, to your nearest phone and call a tow truck and have your vehicle transported to the nearest mechanic. If you have depressed the brake pedal the entire brake system is likely contaminated and will require extensive repair including replacement of the master cylinder, wheel cylinders/calipers and total flush of all lines. If you have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance this is likely a covered loss. One last piece of advice: keep your 'friend' away from your car in the future.
You bet it's bad! The entire brake system should be flushed immediately with fresh brake fluid. Motor oil will ruin all the O rings and seals throughout the brake system. It also will boil because of the heat inside the calipers and wheel cylinders. Brake fluid boils at 525 degrees Fahrenheit motor oil on the other-hand boils between 160 -230 degrees Fahrenheit. This means the car will not stop when the oil starts boiling in the brake system.

Get it done ASAP at any auto repair shop who has a brake flushing system.
yes get a rag and get it out of there now or it will cost you the next thing to do is go get a bottle of brake fluid and bleed the brakes ---hurry cause you can beat thedamage before it haqppens
yes it,s bad! if he has,nt hit the brake yet, tell him to take a rag and get it out and put brake fluid in. if he already hit the brake, he will have to bleed the brakes.
bleed the whole system, all wheels and replce with dot3 brake fluid the motor oil is flamable in high heat brake system
Motor oil will swell up all the rubber parts in the brake system and that's not good.
Hope your friend has lots of money.
