My car is losing gas mileage. It has new plugs, a recent oil change and the air filter is clean. Ideas?

Car only has 36000 miles, is a Kia Spectra and try to keep foot off floor. My car is losing gas mileage. It has new plugs, a recent oil change and the air filter is clean. Ideas?
ck your tire pressure make sure all four are the same, fuel additive might help also if you havent run any in awhile. not only do you have to change plugs but you might change the plug wires also, they wear out after time. Good LuckMy car is losing gas mileage. It has new plugs, a recent oil change and the air filter is clean. Ideas?
After checking the above answers, (especially tire pressure %26amp; excess weight) try a different gas station or grade of gas. If the gas has 10% ethanol, you will lose some mileage over straight gas. Some of the crap they are selling as gas these days isn't even fit to use in a lawnmower.
Most people think their car is burning more fuel, but its just the price of fuel that makes it look bad. Check you gas mileage when you are driving on a highway, not in town.
if it is a KIA it should still be under warranty if it only has 36000 miles so take it back to the dealer and see if they can figure it out
check your o2 senser makes a big diff.
First, let the car sit and check underneath for any wet spots and see if you smell any gas fumes when you get out of the car and go from there.
kia = bad choice....get rid of it.....
Get rid of it!!! easy solution isn't it? :)
Have you changed the brand of gas you use? Gas stations with higher ethanol like AM/PM, Gull, store brands.. IE.. Safeway, qfc.. etc.. get less mpg than higher end brands like Chevron/Texaco or Shell. Plus they add fuel injector cleaners to their gas.. like Techron. If you are using your air conditioner more that uses up a lot more horse power and therefore uses a lot more gas. How much less mileage are you talking? another thing gas as it gets hot can evaporate so maybe if it has been really hot and your tank isn't all the way full, some evaporation may be happening too.
At 36000 miles it's time for a tune up. Not to mention it might have a tiny leak in the gas tank.
Do you drive with the A/c on alot? If so, that will cause gas mileage to drop. If not, consider cleaning the car out. Take out all unnecessary stuff out of it. Except, spare tire, and the tools for the tire. Also consider getting a locking gas cap, as you might have a thief in your area. Yes, tires too, but the correct pressures, aren't on the tires themselves. The correct pressures will or should be listed on the door jam sticker.
You aren't carrying around a bunch of stuff are you? That will drag down your gas mileage. Are your tires properly inflated?
Kia isn't that bad....

Is the check engine light on? have the codes checked to be sure, but it sounds like o2 sensors right now, which should still be under warranty. don't they have a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty? get them to fix it.
Have you changed your driving habits or did the person that installed the new spark plugs gap them correctly or did they just throw them in right out of the box.It could be a lot of things but start by taking it back to the last place that worked on it and talk to them about your complaints.
put air in tires if it dont work get rid of evil kia
It should be under warranty at only 36,000 miles....take it to the dealer and have them figure it out. Also, try a fuel system cleaner, turn off the AC, overinflate your tires just a few pounds, clean out any junk in the back seat or trunk.....etc. wow-it could be anything....lol
No wait, did you use Fram air filter? lol
Check the tire pressure. Adjust to what manufacturers specifications are on the sidewall. It will make a world of difference.
