I have tried everything from incense, deodorizers, airing it out,no luck it still spells. Any suggestion would help.I have a car and I spilled some gas/oil mixture in the trunk and the whole car spells like gas/oil mix.?
If it wouldn't cost too much, get the trunk reupholstered. If that costs too much, febreeze seems to work best for me getting smells out. You could take the upholstery out of the trunk and give it a good soap job and let it soak, then dry, do that as many times as possible. If you leave the carpet in the trunk, the smell will be nearly impossible to get out.I have a car and I spilled some gas/oil mixture in the trunk and the whole car spells like gas/oil mix.?
use the cat litter. work it into the carpet with a nylong brush. leave it alone for 24-48 hours and use a shop vac or other vacuum to clean it out. presto, the gas/oil smell is gone. it helps if you are not in a cold climate.
I found this at Acurazine.com
Hope it works!
Remove the spare wheel and anything else in the trunk, clean and then spray everything, Odor Terminator works on a 'contact' basis.
Valuguard鈥檚 Odor Terminator is not a perfume or cover up scent; it鈥檚 an unscented formula that chemically alters the proteins that odour causing microbes feed on. It's non-toxic, non-allergenic, fast acting without offensive perfume smell and will not damage interior materials or components.
For the removal of smoke, pet odours, petrol (gasoline) and virtually any organically caused odours (inc mould) in carpet, seats, headliners, upholstery and heating and air conditioning ducts, spray a fine mist over the entire vehicle interior beginning with the headliner and finishing on the carpeting. Odor Terminator is a contact product and must be sprayed on the source of the odour. Be sure to spray under the seats. A/C system ducts- spray into all vents, turn on the fan blower and spray into all intakes. Extractor Units: add 4 ounces Odor terminator to each gallon of extractor solution. Clean interior glass after use to prevent spotting. (http://www.autoint.com )
Sheesh...if there's carpet back there, it may have to be replaced. I'm not sure how a stench like that could EVER come out...
the best way to take smells out of everything is to use vinegar and backing soda. you might want to put them into a container and then leave it in your trunk for a couple of days and that should work
put cat litter on it, it will soak up the gas and oil and smell leave it for a few days and vac out put some new litter in and rub around then vac out.
buy some vodka, soak it into the carpet 4-5 times. vodka is a good scent remover, or so i heard. if not, try using dove dish soap, soaking it a few times...
