The lady that owned it before me gave it to me with no oil in it and i was thinking maybe the computer won't give it spark? im not really sure but if the motor isn't blow could this be the case? i had a machanic tell me it's eaither the Coil Pack's the Timing Chain or the Computer.. Anyone have any clue it's not getting spark but it's fine all the way up to the coil pack's.. But would they both go out at the same time??Can a Car with no motor oil cause it to not start or have spark? I have a 94 Thunderbird and..?
Try putting some oil in it and try again. Can a Car with no motor oil cause it to not start or have spark? I have a 94 Thunderbird and..?
Since there's no such thing as a timing chain in that car, you might want to go to a real mechanic. There's very little chance that engine's any good if it was completely out of oil anyhow.
Oil or lack of oil in the crankcase would have no effect on spark.
If your mechanic told you that, he might as well have said ';It's the motor, or the back bumper, or the radio'; which would have made as much sense. Time for a new mechanic I think.
Does it turn over? If not you may have a frozen motor. If it does, have you done a compression check?
I'd have a competent mechanic look at it and tell you if it's worth messing with.
no oil would cause it not to start if the engine is extremely dry, but it would not cause the plugs to not spark....if they are not sparking the mechanic was right somewhat...it is either your distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs, timing chain, the computer might be blown....if you take the positive side of the battery off for about 15-30 minutes it will reset the computer....try it...might help....good luck my friend....
crank sensor may be bad. Its not easy to check this problem so please take it to someone who knows what they are doing to have it diagnosed. you will waste a lot of time and money otherwise.
