1990 toyota 4runner, 22R-E Engine, 4 cylHow do I change the oil in my car?
Warm the engine up and then let it sit for about 15 minutes. Crawl under it and remove the drain plug in the oil pan (you may need a crow foot for this depending on the suspension). Remove the oil filter after the oil is drained from the pan. Repalce oil filter makeing sure to rub a thin coat of oil around the rubber seal. Replace the drain plug and fill with approx. 4 quarts of oil. However something to think about is the disposal of the old oil. Some times it is easier and cheaper to just go to a lube shop and have it done. How do I change the oil in my car?
Go to Jiffy Lube
Go with dream, but don't go to jiffy lube... aka IFFY lube. Lots of nice stories of how they screwed customers over and most never fixed the problem, or did it with alot of hell involved. Go get you a good name brand oil, havolines good.... skip the frams....cheaply made and overpriced. Go to napa and get a napa gold ( wix ) filter. One thing that wasn't said, make sure to not cross thread the filter, and to make sure the old filter seal is off. Also advance auto or autozone can take the used oil. Just get a approved collection pan.
